Peter BEADLE ONZM. New Zealand 20th Century Peter Beadle has refined his reputation as a talented landscape artist. His work often draws on scenes around his home in Otago’s Lake District of the South Island for subject matter, including references to the history of the area as a gold-mining district and its rugged mountain scenery. His paintings serve to glorify an environment and landscape to which Beadle is obviously attached. Beadle’s paintings are included in many collections public and private, national and international, including Lloyds of London, and have been exhibited throughout New Zealand, Canada and the USA. He has completed several major commissions for National companies including Air New Zealand, the Reserve Bank, the New Zealand Meat Marketing Board and the National Bank. One of Beadle’s works was presented to former US President Bill Clinton during the 1999 APEC World Leaders’ conference. The New Zealand Government recognized Beadle’s service to the arts and conservation in 1999 when he was awarded an ONZM. |
